Lilypie Second Birthday tickers Lilypie Maternity tickers

24 week midwife appointment (a little late LOL)

A couple weeks late but we did our 24 week m/w appointment tonight.

Fundal Height: 26.5 cm (perfect!)
Blood Pressure: 110/62 (perfect!)
Fetal Heart Tones: 140-150's (perfect!)
Urine Dip Stick: Glucose-Negative (perfect!) Protein-Trace (good but not perfect---I didn't drink much water today).
Edema: None (perfect!)
Complaints/Ailments From Me: None (perfect!)
Next appointment: May 7th-28 weeks....I'll be doing my appointments every 2 weeks now!

Cool things we found out:
--She will do 36.5 to 43 weeks home birth! (most only do 37-42 weeks).
--She is thinking about doing first time mom breeches at home (she ok with BTDT moms doing breech already---obviously depending on the type of breech).
--The 3 apprentices she has are ALL doulas AND even trained lay midwives! (lay midwives can't delivery on their own in IL so their only options is to be apprentices). So I don't need a doula because one comes with her! (saving me $1200!--think of the cloth diapers and slings I can get with that! LOL
--If she doesn't do the delivery because we go early or if I become high risk and can't do a home birth she refunds us half her fee. ($4,000 for prenatal/childbirth/postnatal/newborn care).

****Also on a side note....we will be moving to New Orleans on June 1st (tentative date) and be back in Des Plaines on July 1st (can't fly past this day). We will be staying in Des Plaines till baby is born plus 2-3 weeks then move back to New Orleans for a few months. So we will most likely be in the states for the rest of the year.
