37 Weeks
37 Weeks: Your Baby's Growth and Development Your baby is still busy putting on weight during pregnancy week 37. The longer your baby stays in utero, the more he will weigh when born! These added layers of fat will help strengthen your baby's overall well being and increase their chances for a healthy and safe entry into the world. Your Growth and Development
Symptoms this last week: moments of pressure on my right lower ribs, some mild indigestion and occasional constipation, losing mucus plug slowly still (so far still in the yellow/green thick snot phase-no bloody show) and having some very mild cramps at times...so my cervix/uterus is doing what its suppose to do!!!
Weight gain (148lbs starting): 158lbs
Pictures:How Big is the Baby at 37 Weeks Pregnant?
Your baby may weigh close to 6 and a half pounds by pregnancy 37 weeks, and may be as much as 21 inches long during pregnancy at 37 weeks.

Many women start noticing that their uterus seems to stop growing at 37 weeks pregnant. May women's uteri will remain the same size from now until birth. You should measure about 6 and a half inches from the navel.

Wow! By pregnancy week 35 your baby is probably now more than 5 and a half pounds. During pregnancy at 35 weeks your baby is also probably more than 20 inches long!
Your Growth and Development
Your baby is still working diligently by pregnancy week 35 on putting on more fat to keep her safe and warm in the early weeks after delivery. Your baby's suckle reflexes should be well developed by pregnancy 35 weeks. If born prematurely at pregnancy week 35, most babies will still be able to breastfeed with little trouble at this point in time.
Your Growth and Development
Your uterus by 35 weeks pregnant is a whopping 6 inches above your bellybutton. You may have gained close to 30 pounds around 35 weeks pregnant.

By pregnancy week 33 your baby weighs a little over 4 pounds and may be a little over 19 inches long!
Your Baby's Growth and Development
Your baby is busy concentrating on weight gain during pregnancy week 33 and during the remainder of your pregnancy week by week. Your amniotic fluid may be at the highest level it will reach during your pregnancy at 33 weeks. Your baby's brain has been busy growing rapidly during pregnancy at 33 weeks, increasing the size of your baby's head by as much as 3/8 of an inch. Your baby's skin will start changing from red to pink as fat begins to accumulate beneath its surface.
Your Growth and Development
By 33 weeks pregnant your uterus is a little over 5 inches above your navel. You may have gained up to 28 pounds by 33 weeks pregnant, though some women will have gained more. During this point in pregnancy many women find that they gain weight faster than at any other time. This is partly due to the rapid growth your baby is experiencing. Most babies will put on 5-9 ounces every week from this point out!

How Big is the Baby at 32 Weeks Pregnant?
Your baby continues to put on weight during pregnancy at 32 weeks, and is now almost 4 pounds. By 32 weeks pregnant your baby is also just under 19 inches long.
Your Baby's Growth and Development
By 32 weeks pregnant your baby now has toenails and fingernails to complement her frame, though it will probably be a while before your baby requires an official pedicure or manicure.
Your baby continues to grow strong and put on weight during pregnancy at 32 weeks and in the upcoming weeks.
Your Growth and Development
By pregnancy 32 weeks the total volume of blood circulating in your body is about 40 to 50 percent higher than it was before you became pregnant. This added blood volume helps accommodate your fetus. You are probably still gaining about one pound per week during pregnancy 32 weeks. Some women find they are experiencing more shortness of breath at this time during their pregnancy. Be sure you avoid overexertion and take time to rest during the day.
You might start experiencing pain in your buttocks and lower back among other places by pregnancy week 32 as your center of gravity shifts. Take care when walking to avoid unnecessary falls or slips!

How Big is the Baby at 30 Weeks Pregnant?
By 30 weeks pregnant your baby weighs almost 3 pounds and is just about 17 inches long!
Your Baby's Growth and Development
Your baby is continuing to grow and develop during pregnancy at 30 weeks, filling out your uterus more and more every day. You have probably noticed an arm or leg moving across your belly at one time or another. Many parents have a lot of fun playing "guess the body part" as their unborn baby moves underneath mom's belly during pregnancy 30 weeks. This game is even more interesting as your pregnancy week by week continues. A hard round lump is likely either the head or your baby's bottom, whereas a longer flat surface may be your baby's back. Your healthcare provider may be able to help you identify your baby's bumps and lumps at your next prenatal visit.
The volume of amniotic fluid in your belly will slowly start to decrease as your baby starts to take up more and more space in your belly.
Your Growth and Development
Your uterus is now about 4 inches above your belly button at pregnancy week 30. You are now in the home stretch of pregnancy by pregnancy at 30 weeks, and quickly running out of room to expand!

Your Baby's Growth and Development
Up until now if you were to look at your baby's brain during your pregnancy week by week it would appear smooth. By about 28 weeks pregnant however this changes, as the brain starts to mature and form grooves that we commonly associate with a human brain. Your baby may also be growing longer hair on her head by pregnancy at 28 weeks, though many babies will come out bald at birth. Others will be born with lovely locks of hair that will fall out and even change color some time after delivery.
Your baby should also be sprouting eyelashes by pregnancy 28 weeks, which will blink repeatedly if you were to shine a bright light on your belly.
Your Growth and Development
By pregnancy 28 weeks your uterus measures at least 3 inches above your bellybutton, or is approximately 28 cm tall. You should be steadily gaining weight from pregnancy week 28 and beyond.

27 Weeks
27Weeks:
Weight gain (148lbs starting): +1, 149lbs!
Pictures:
How Big is the Baby at 27 Weeks Pregnant?
Your baby at 27 weeks now weighs slightly over 2 pounds by 27 weeks pregnant. Your baby's total length is close to 15 inches during pregnancy at 27 weeks! Your baby is now a perfectly formed albeit very tiny human being, but of course will continue growing as you continue your pregnancy week by week .
Your Baby's Growth and Development
Your baby's systems continue to mature during pregnancy week 27 and your little one even starts accumulating some weight in the upcoming weeks.
Up until between the 27th and 28th weeks of pregnancy your baby's eyelids are fused together. After this week or next they will open. The retina or the light sensitive portion of the eye typically starts maturing at about 27 weeks of pregnancy. The layers that form in the retina will allow your baby's eyes to receive light and transmit the information it is receiving to the brain to form images. This basic process is referred to as 'sight'. Imagine that, at 27 weeks pregnant your baby is a tiny, seeing human being!

26 Weeks
26Weeks:
Weight gain (148lbs starting): + 3lbs (148lbs). Looks like that American food is doing the trick or its my normal post flying extra weight--guess next week will tell.
Pictures:
How Big is the Baby at 26 Weeks Pregnant?
Your baby has put on quite a bit of weight by pregnancy week 26 and is now a whopping 2 pounds (almost). Your baby's crown-to-rump length is about 9-10 inches long, and her total length is about 12 inches during pregnancy 26 weeks! Your baby is now starting to add a little fat to her bones, though she won't start accumulating too much fat until the last few weeks of pregnancy.
Your Baby's Growth and Development
Your baby's heart continues to grow and develop during pregnancy at 26 weeks. You may even be able to hear your baby's heart beat through a traditional stethoscope placed on your stomach by 26 weeks pregnant. Don't get too excited though, some women can go their entire pregnancy without being able to locate their baby's heartbeat using a stethoscope. The Doppler is a much more effective and efficient way of measuring your baby's heartbeat throughout pregnancy.
In addition to organ maturation throughout the body, your baby's nerve pathways in her ears continue to develop during pregnancy 26 weeks which will allow your baby to respond to sounds more consistently. You might notice your baby jumping more often now to loud noises when you are 26 weeks pregnant. This is a good time to start playing some relaxing music to your little one when you have the chance. Some parents even enjoy reading to their babies during this time. If you haven't considered it, have your partner read to your belly. This will help your baby become more acclimated to the sound of your partner's voice. Believe it or not, one of the first things babies recognize outside the womb besides smell is the sound of your voice, and your partner's voice.
Your baby will continue breathing in amniotic fluid after twenty six weeks pregnant and beyond. Boy babies usually experience a bit of growth during this week, as their testicles begin to descend into the scrotum. This process typically takes between two and three days to complete.

24 Weeks
24 Weeks:
Symptoms this last week: had to nap some again this last week-think its a growth spurt going on.
Weight gain (148lbs starting): -1lb (147 lbs).
Weird note: We went to some clubs/go-go bars this last weekend and some of the guys pointed out I was pregnant so all the hookers came up to rub my belly (which isn't really there much)...so now I will always remember my first rubs were by hookers! LOL
Pictures:
During pregnancy week 24 your baby is now more than one pound and is about 8 ½ inches long (from crown to rump)! As you track your pregnancy week by week from this point out your baby will resemble a tiny albeit complete little human being!
Your Baby's Growth and Development
Your baby continues to grow more proportional each and every day. During pregnancy week 24 her organ systems continue to mature as do the central nervous system, digestive system and even reproductive and circulatory systems. During a pregnancy at 24 weeks your baby's lungs are also starting to form little branches and will eventually start producing a substance called surfactant which happens closer to the time your baby's lungs start maturing.
The amniotic fluid surrounding your baby begins to increase in volume after about pregnancy 24 weeks.. This continues until delivery when your uterus will hold up to 2 pints of amniotic fluid.
Your Growth and Development
Your uterus continues to grow at pregnancy 24 weeks, now between 1 ½ and 2 inches above your belly button. Many women are surprised that people want to start rubbing their bellies as they start to show during pregnancy at 24 weeks and beyond. While some women don't mind, others feel uncomfortable. It isn't uncommon for perfect strangers to come up to you and rub your belly.
If it really bothers you, you can always tell them you are ticklish. Or head them off by patting your own belly that way your hand is in the way and may prevent them from reaching out to touch your belly without an invitation. Remember that babies tend to fill the world with joy, that's why so many people are fond of rubbing a pregnant woman's belly. Others believe there is luck to be had by rubbing a pregnant woman's belly... while this has yet to be 'proven' it certainly can't hurt!

How Big is the Baby at 22 Weeks Pregnant?
Compared to your baby's first weeks of life, your baby at pregnancy week 22 is now a giant! At more than 7 1/2 inches long your baby weighs over 12 ounces during pregnancy 22 weeks!
Your Baby's Growth and Development
Your baby continues to grow each and every day of your pregnancy week by week. His organs are developing and maturing during pregnancy week 22, as are his internal systems, including the digestive and reproductive system.
By this point in time your baby's eyelids have formed and eyebrows have already developed. Your baby should have fingernails at this point in time. By the time your baby is born, you may find he is already ready for his first nail trimming!
By this time your baby's organs are specializing in their functions. By now your baby is starting to show some unique features. If you were to peak inside the womb you might notice your baby's first signs of teeth and full lips.
Your Growth and Development
Your uterus may now be approximately 2 cm or almost 3/4 of an inch above your belly button during pregnancy 22 weeks. Your abdomen still isn't large enough to be an obstacle at pregnancy week 22, however you may find that your center of gravity has slightly shifted.

20 Weeks
Symptoms this last week: Light headed when standing up to quick, nipples leaking with stimulation, got a bad sunburn this week so most of my icky things are from that instead.
Weight gain (148lbs starting): -4 (144 lbs). No gain/no loss from last week.

Pictures: (you can tell a little thicker stomach in the pictures)
Your Baby's Growth and Development By pregnancy 20 weeks your baby is now practicing breathing and swallowing on a regular basis. Your baby continues to grow and fill out, with the head becoming slightly more proportional to the rest of the body.Your baby's skin is becoming more complex at the end of pregnancy week 20, forming different layers. The epidermis, or surface of your baby's skin now has four layers that contain ridges for fingertips. The layers that form in your baby's palms and feet will provide him with his own unique fingerprint later in life.
Your Growth and Development
By pregnancy 20 weeks time you are at the midpoint of your pregnancy, and onlookers are definitely starting to notice your bump! After pregnancy week 20 your uterus has likely reached your bellybutton. Growth typically starts to become more regular from this point in time on, so you should be noticing regular changes in your belly.
Remember that you are halfway through your pregnancy by 20 weeks pregnant, only 20 more weeks to go! Some ladies will deliver slightly sooner than 40 weeks, while others will delivery shortly after. A typical pregnancy usually lasts anywhere from 37-42 weeks. Where you fall in this spectrum will depend on a number of factors, including the accuracy of your due date, the health of your baby and even your genetics!
